Today is the deadline for the St. Louis Sports Commission's Sportsmanship Scholarship. There will be no overtime. All completed applications must be received via mail, fax, email, or hand-delivery today. I know you've done the right thing by your kids and helped them take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. The Sports Commission will award a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who has shown extraordinary sportsmanship on the field. If you still need an application packet, click on the following link - www.stlsports.org/sportsmanship. So, get the applications in. Time's a wastin'!
Tomorrow marks the premiere of the 2011 National Sportsmanship Awards presented by Maryville University. The one-hour show begins at 7 p.m. on KSDK Newschannel 5 in St. Louis. Mike Bush hosts and provides more details in the video below (email subscribers click here).
This video is also available on SportsmanshipTV.
If you miss tomorrow night's broadcast (which I know you won't), the program re-airs on Father's Day, June 19 at 11 a.m. On second thought, watch both broadcasts. Make sure to watch Sunday's show with your dad before you take him out for lunch or dinner. Hug the old man and tell him you appreciate all the time he spent teaching you to catch, throw, and shoot. Look at the National Sportsmanship Awards as a gift from the St. Louis Sports Commission to you and your dad. Until next time...
Be a Good Sport!
